What was the reason Circe sent Odysseus to Hades?

Sometimes, events or pieces of a story can have symbolic meaning: Polyphemus, for example. Sometimes, a part of a story could simply be informative or, a character undergoes some event which informs that character, i.e. Odysseus finds out Agamemnon has died and in return, that event informs us the reader.

Thinking about everything that Odysseus did while in Hades, tell why you think he was sent there by Circes? Do you think it symbolized something or was he there to get information?

There are no right or wrong answers for this only reasonable ones. If you give some thought to what you write, you will have succeeded with the assignment.

Be care of grammar and spelling. Don't forget to put your classroom number at the end of your post.

The View from Saturday

Nadia is upset with Ethan. She believes he knows or knew something about her and her family. She demands that Ethan tell her and he is of course, confused (on page 331).

What do you think Nadia believes Ethan knows or knew about her, her mother and her father?

Hint: It has something to do with Ethan knowing that Nadia's mom was going to interview in New York and how it relates to the divorce.

Your answers must be based on the above question and show a good attempt at understanding why Nadia was so upset with Ethan.

Watch your grammar and spelling. Leave your classroom number for grading purposes.

Mark Antony and the death of Julius Caesar

Shakespeare tells us that Mark Antony would speak "...not to their reason, but to their feelings." How does Antony then speak to their feelings. How does he manipulate the crowd to see things his way and to stop despising Caesar and instead, care about him?
Why did Cassius fear that Mark Antony would do this?

There are 3 questions here. You should have 3 corresponding answers. The information is in the text and you will have an opportunity to discuss the passages with your group.

All answers should be in complete sentences with attention to grammar and spelling.
