Warren Faidley: Storm Chaser
After reading about Warren Faidley, do you think that he is aware of the danger he is in when he goes storm chasing? Is there evidence from his account of chasing tornadoes in the Texas and Oklahoma area that he realizes it is dangerous? Find a quote from the story to support your answer.

ReplyDeleteYes I think he is aware of the dangers that he might face but he puts it in the back of his head beacause if he thinks that he wouldn't have all of the courage that he has when he takes his pictures. I think there is evidence that he is scared of the tornado. The prof is "Slow down, Tom."

ReplyDeleteI think he is aware because he has experience and knows wether it is safe or not. The best thing for warren is that he is close enough to not get killed and far enough to take a good shot or photo. Also he is brave enough to take pictures of storms that can rip us apart.I think it is a great way to make a living because he is using his fear to do something that I can't even do. He is a fearless great man. and there is proof and that is slow down tom.

ReplyDeleteYes I think he is aware of the danger he is in when he takes pictures but knows when it is a safer day or a pretty dangerous day. He does go for dangerous ones and knows that he is brave enough to take photos with out getting badly injured. When Warren sees a dark and white cloud staring to swirl, he says," I am excited but I am worried too. I know that anyone in the path of this storm can is in terrible danger."

ReplyDeletei think he knows its a danderouse job of taking pictures of lightning, heracanes, and tornados but i think he has had expeireince with all these type of great, terreble, and amazing storms!

ReplyDeleteYes, I think he will face some kind of dager. But he will take a quick picture and then leave fast on the car. If he was in danger he would maybe stop chchasing the stormes if he survvied.
#1: Yes I think that Warren Faidley is aware when he goes storm chasing. He is aware because in the story, Warren is trying to take pictures of lightning and he knows that lightning can kill you if it hits you or it could hurt you. Yes there is evidence that Warren knows it's dangerous when you go storm chasing because one time when he was trying to take pictures of seven tornados forming, it was getting dark and he couldn't see the tornados anymore but he knew they were still there. Warren knew it would be too dangerous so he went home.

ReplyDeleteI think that he understands that its dangerous,but doesn'think about it. When he was chasing the tornadoes he stayed out there for a while. The reason I think he is aware is beacause he said he was done for the day when the storms got closer. Thats why I think that he is aware but still wants his pictures, and also because he loves storms.

ReplyDeleteI think think that Warren Faidley is aware of the danger in his job! He is willing to put himself in danger to get a great photo.When he was a boy he rode his bike into a whirlwind and it seemed like he loved it. He did a lot more dangerouse stuff and he wouldn't have got all of those great pictures whithout being in a little danger and not knowing! Warren Faidley is very brave!

ReplyDeleteYes I think he aware of the danger he is when he takes pictures tornadeos,hurricanes, or lightning but I also do know that he will know when it's a pretty dangeroes tornadeo or when it's a prety safe tornadeo.he sometimes takes chances to take big tornadeos but he has experience and he knows what he suppose to do, he's braveand he willing to take a chance to take a great tornadeo photo.My proof that from the story that Warren knows the danger is because he quotes "Slow down Tom I can't see the funnel cloud connected to thet thing and we sure don't want to get hit by it."

ReplyDeleteYes, he probably understands that's it's dangerous, but stays a good distance away so that's it's not to big of a risk. I think he knows what he's doing, and understands his safety limits. When he was chasing the seven tornadoes, he soon realized, that it was too dangerous, so he left. I think that since he loves what he does he will probably take his job seriously.

ReplyDeleteI think he knows it is dangerous. One time he got bitten by a black widow. He was close to being hit by lightning. He took a photo then he normaly he would leave. "Warren please be careful."

ReplyDeleteI think Warren knows he is in danger. But he knows what he's doing. At least he know the basic safety protocol of the situation. Warren also has experience and knows how a storm reacts. So I'm sure warren will be okay. But still it is a dangerous word

ReplyDelete#11 I think that Warren Faidley will do anything to get those shots. Warren is aware that he is in grave danger, but he gets those photos for a living. I don't think he'll stop and say "hey, wait a second I'm in grave danger," and then run away screaming. He would probably say "hey you know what i put myself out there, but I'm okay with that," also Warren Faidley is a proffesional storm chaser.... Once again Warren loves chasing storms and if hes okay with doing it, than the heck with it, He'll do whatever he wants.
ReplyDelete#27 ....I do think that Warren Faidley knows he is in danger when he chases storms because when he was little he rode his bike into the middle of a wind tornado in this dusty lot. That tells me that Warren is a brave and when he did that he knew it was going to be dangerous, but he was taking a chance. So I think that he is still like that today. When he chases storms he does it is because it is something he loves to do. Plus, he has done it many times. So he is expierenced. He knows what he is doing and he loves it.
ReplyDelete#15 I think that he knows that he it is in dangers, because he rod his bike in dangers winds he loved the thrill and excitement of the winds. I think he knew that it would be dangers for him, but he loves it anyway. He has done some dangers things like he has rod by a tornado. That is what i think.

ReplyDeleteI think that when Warren Faidley goes storm chasing he knows that he is risking his life in dangerous storms.I am saying that because lighting can hurt you and or kill you if you don't be careful.He is well experienced so he knows when to back off and when to get close for pictures.All i can say is that he loves what he does so he can do whatever he wants as long as he is careful.

ReplyDeleteYes, I think he is aware that it is dangerous because he said in the story that during a storm no one was killed or hurt. Also, when he was a kid he went into an empty lot and rode his bike in a dirt devil. Also, when he was a teen he took a bunch of spider webs and put them on cords and there were black widows on his hand. He could have got himself killed. So I think it's dangerous what he does and scary. I wonder how he does it?

yes, In the story he is all wayes far from the storm so he wont get hurt or injerd. he all wayes staes safe.

He knows that tornadoes and lighting could kill you.When he was going to take pictures of tornadoes with his partner,Tom six other tornadoes started to form. He wanted to take pictures of the tornadoes but it was getting dark and he decided it was too dangerous and decided to go home.

ReplyDeleteYes he tries to take pictures as safe as possibile. Warren knows it is dangoreas because he has to go close to them , and when he was a child where he lived were lots of tornadoes.

ReplyDeleteYes I think he is aware of the danger that he is going through. He watches the weather everyday and sometimes he hears how some people could get killed if there not careful. He can't be right next to a storm just to see what it looks like and can't drive to fast to catch up with the storm. This proof is "Slow down Tom."
#29- Yes because when Warren took a picture of lightning he was behind a ditch.He is aware of protecting himself from getting struck by lightning.In his tornado diary,he tries to not get in the tornadoes path.When wWarren saw a funnel cloud,he told Tom to slow down.
ReplyDelete#7-Yes, I think he knows it is dangerous. But he seems so passionate about what he does. Also the it's how he makes his living, he's a professional. So he knows the risks.
ReplyDeleteYes, on page 70 he says, "I'm excited, but I'm worried too. I know that anyone in the path of this storm is in terrible danger."
