Loyalty

You are a young colonist who strongly supports the efforts of Paul Revere and other members of the revolution. Your best friend, however, does not support the revolution and finds out that Paul Revere is preparing to warn the villages of Lexington and Concord about British troop movements. You know your friend has this information, what would you do to prevent your closest friend from warning the British?

Remember to include your atomic number and watch your spelling, grammar and organization!

If my friend thought Paul Revere was going to warn the people I would make sure he would think its a false statement. If he didnt beileve that I would stall him the night he was going to tell the British. I would tell him that Paul Revere would never do such a thing. I would make sure he had no contact with the British. This is what I would do.

  2. 18:I would tell my friend that if he told the British more people would die and that I wanted Paul Revere to tell them so the everthing would start over. So that we could have new laws. If he would not lisen I would stop him and tie him up and say sorry.

  3. 11- To prevent my best friend from telling the British army, I would try to make him forget by talking. In my "Talk," I would ask him a bunch of gossip stuff like, "Who do you like more-." That way, he might forget what Paul Revere was going to do, so he won't tell the British soldiers. If that doesn't work then I will try to stop him by trying to prevent him from walking over to one and telling them. Although if he did, I doubt they would believe him. They might not believe him because he is just a child, and children are usually pranking or lying for fun.

If that happened I would tell Paul Revere about it. Also I would tell my friend that I became loyal to King George and tell him I would alert the british instead of him. If he tells me he wants to go with me I would tell him to warn other loyalist instead. Then if an adult loyalist says he is going with me to help me out I would lie that I'm already going with my dad. After the event I would tell my friend that I was lying and tell him I'm sorry.

  5. #29-I would tell my friend to go with me to a place where Paul would never find. Over there at that secret place, I would tell my friend a question that is only for Loyalists and Torries to know. When Paul is out of town, we will go back into town and I will rush to a Rebel and tell the information to him.

I would try to stop my friend by sending a secret message to the farmers in Lexington and Concord, to arm themselves and to tell their wives and children to move out of town. I would also say in my message to try to do it as secretly as possible. Then, I would make mini cakes and put each message inside each one and ask other Patriots in my town secretly to go deliver them to the farmers without the red coats noticing.

I would tell my friend not to tell the British because he can make a mistake about the soldiers coming in from a spacific spot but then the friend will tell them that somebody is telling other people that the british is coming and are all ready for the coming at that spot but they come in a different way.

If that happened with a friend of mine, I would just keep her busy liking playing games and fighting is unstoppable, but like keep her busy so she can't have time to send a message to the british about this movement warning. I would have make a letter when she is tired of being busy, I would tell that I would send it, and never really send the letter that SHE wrote, but a letter that I wrote with the same envelope and it would look like I send her letter. If that won't work, I will have to think of another plan, but right now i have nothing in my mind besides that idea that I wrote down already.

I would go to her and tell her that she should not warn them because if she did their would be a bad war between the two groups. I would also ask her why she is on the other team. If she says that her parents are on that team than I would say to her that she has her own choice of who she wants to be. She has her own rights as a person. If she still didn't agree with me that time I would beg her not to tell until she gets realy anoyed and doesn't tell. After I would also say that she is my best friend and I don't want our countries to fight.

I would tell Paul and some of the American troops to wach out from the British. Also tell Paul if he can do his ride a little earlier to make sure that my friend has not allready told. The I would explain to my friend about what the king has done. If that dosen't work then I will show what the British troops are donig to American towns.

I would talked to them and say " I know Paul is going to warn everybody about the British ,but think about my family to ,and if you stop Paul by telling the British army and my family dies then I can not be friends with you because you stopped Paul Revere and my family never got warned." Then I would think about what I said to make shure I did it nicely and not mean. Then I would say " Do you care about my family and are friendship or do you just care about your country". Then I would let myfriend think about all I said ,and I'll let him/her think about what their going to do.

I would prevent my best friend from telling the British that Paul Revere was going to warn Lexington and Concord about British troop movement by giving her something she really wants. I think that she might consider not telling the British if I gave her something she really wants, because if I was a Tory, I might consider not telling the British, because I got something that I really wanted. If she still was going to tell the British, I would try to convince her that Paul didn't know anything about the British troop movement. I think she might believe me, because she trusts me because I am her best friend.

I wouldn't let her go anywhere without me so i could see what she was doing. And if she wanted to tell them at a certain time i would make plans for us at that certain time. I would also tell her not to talk about it in front of the British soilders.

  16. #6: If my friend was a tory and was going to tell the British troops about Paul Revere's ride to Lexinton and Concord I would try to distract him. I would distract him by gathering my other friends that are rebels and sing happy birthday to him and give him a birthday cake even though it isn't his birthday. I would also have my friends all have a staring contest with him and I would make sure he stays with us.

  17. #14(: I would let my friend tell the British. I would tell the Rebel general that the British know where the Rebel army is going and what they need so they can change the spot where the army is going.

  18. #27....... I would try to convince my friend that if Britain gets information that it shouldn't, Britain could have a big chance on winning the war. I would also include that if Britain won the war it would be to powerful. I would do what Benjamin Franklin did. If that however didn't work, I would tell my friend that she had got some wrong information. I would tell her that she misunderstood what she heard, and I would make up some explanation on what she had really heard so she would believe me. I would think that because she is my friend she would believe me.

If this had happened to me what I would do to prevent her from informing the british troops is inform Paul about her and also I would try to tie her up I know it would be mean, but if it means I have to do it for my independence I would take any risk, but eventually I would let her go. My second option is to lock her in a cage, but I wouldn't be mean I would give her food and water and I would talk to her, and get her blankets and pillows for her to be cozy, and yes eventually I would let her out, but when Paul Revere is done with his big ride warning the people of Lexington of the red coats. So that is how I would solve this problem if I were in this situation.

I would make sure that the British were not near him Because if the British found out they would put him in jail. If was put in jail he could not warn the americans. He could also be killed if the British found out that he was warning them. I would be close to him so that I could see if the Red coats were ever close to him.

  22. I would ask him to sit and have a cup of tea and when I'm in the kitchen I would grab some rope and when he least expectsit I'll tie him to his chair, and say "You can join me if you just support having a new country and not belonging to the king and having our own set of laws and our own country."

If my closest friend was going warn the British about this information then I would tie him/her up to a pole, tape[some how] his/her mouth shut, and lock her up in my celler.Either that or I would pay someone to kidnap him/her, put him/her in a celler full of apple's and we would both live on a diet of apple's and cider.Even though my friend would likely not like me but I would never let my friend tell the British, not even if it kills our friendship.

I would keep my friend occupied with other things such as playing and talking.Plan b is, I invite him over while at his house his mother would probably have him go just hearing the offer. If that didn't work, I wold go to plan d my last resort option hopefully it doesn't come to this.I would tell the other patriots to make sure he didn't get that far, we would have to find a way to keep him in captivity long enough for the battle though.Even though he is my friend, independince comes at a price, a price I would be willing to pay.

If my friend was going to warn the British that Pual Revere was coming. I would remined her of all the things that he has done for us. I would remined her of her family. Her friends and how much she liked him when she was small.

If I had a friend that was against the Revolution and was going to tell the British that Paul Revere was warning Lexington and Concord that the British are coming, I would tell him reasons he shouldn't do it. On of the reasons I would tell him is, if you tell the British, that would put me, your best friend, in grave danger of getting killed. Also, both of the countries know they are having war and that they are going to get killed. That is bad enough, but if you tell Britain the message, that will make them come earlier so more people will be killed. If that still doesn't work, I would say, if you don't tell the message, I will give you something in exchange. Hopefully that will work and things will be better.

I would find and tell Paul Revere that a friend is going to tell the British that Paul is warning the villages of Lexington but if I was to late I would tell Paul to let me warn the villages of Lexington and hide in one of the bushes and let me use the hores but if I was cought I would say "Are you looking for somebody." Hopfuly they say "no carry on" if they do every thing would work out. If they didn't say that, they could have said "Where are you going" I would say "I'm going the villeges of Lexington to see my grandfather." Then hopfully they would say "Carry on." Then I think every thing would be fine.
